Heart Surgeon Doesn't Think McDonald's Should Be In Hospital
Some Say It's Personal Decision To Eat Big Macs

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Clinic is the superstar of heart health. Year after year, the hospital is rated No. 1.
But there's a McDonald's in the middle of the heart center and the new chief executive officer and world-renowned heart surgeon is wondering why, NewsChannel5’s Alicia Booth reported.
Dr. Toby Cosgrove said it doesn’t belong there.
Cosgrove wouldn't go on camera saying it, but he has reportedly told his employees that he wants to evict the Golden Arches, Booth reported.
He has already closed a Pizza Hut that was located in the hospital. WEWS reported he also knows what too many Big Macs can do to a person.
Not all the clinic's patients and visitors agree with the move.
"You know, I really don't think that matters, I think it's a person's own decision what they want to do," one patient said.
Booth reported McDonald's wants to save its franchise at the clinic. Representatives will visit Thursday to plead their case.
"Other hospitals' restaurants are cafeteria-style, and they've got their own version of fast food, so I don't think McDonalds is any worse than other versions of fast food," said Don Graf, who was visiting the hospital.
Fattening fries aren't the only thing you can get at McDonald's. There are healthier choices, Booth reported.
However, just around the corner in the clinic’s cafeteria, you can buy burgers and fries, but that is reportedly going to change as well.
Cosgrove even wants to give the cafeteria a complete makeover, too.
"A lot of kids may not want to eat that type of food at the cafeteria and a Big Mac goes a long way with a kid," said Michael Oliver, a parent.
